I am a product of the Houston County School System. I graduated from Northside High School in 1981. I then went to Mercer University and earned a Bachelor's degree with a double major in Art and Spanish. I spent my junior year abroad at the University of Valencia. In 1997, after having two beautiful daughters, I found myself at Mercer once again enrolled in the Teacher's Certification Program. In 2007 I enrolled in a Master's Reading and Writing Program with Walden University that I completed in 2009.

I began my teaching career at Westside Elementary school where I taught Kindergarten through Second grade SIA, which is now referred to as EIP. I continued at Westside teaching two years of Kindergarten and two years of second grade. I relocated to McDonough, Georgia for two years and worked in the Clayton County School system for as a second grade teacher for two years. I returned to the Houston County area in 2006 and began working at Matt Arthur Elementary where I still work today. I worked for two years as a second grade teacher, two years as a third grade teacher and then returned to second grade.

I was the baby of three children. My parents and middle sibling have passed, but my oldest sibling ( and very wonderful sister) is still with me. I am a single mother of two grown girls; Bianca, 23 and Ariana, 19. I am also the grandmother of a 3 year old, Lilliana Rosalie and about to be a grandmother again to Lila-Grace, who is due in June. I am an aunt to 5 children, all are grown now also. I am also adopted mother to 4 furbabies, Angel, Maddie, Winnie the Pooch and Bruizer. I have also been known to foster a furbaby or two and believe fervently in "Adopt Don't Shop".

I love being alive in the millennium and enjoy all the advantages it has to offer. Technology is a very exciting frontier to me and love all it has to offer and I love learning and creating new things using this medium.
